MOVABLE PROSTHETICS
Artificial dentures replace missing or removed teeth. They restore chewing, speaking and the aesthetics of the mouth. They are movable and as such they may be placed or removed from the mouth with ease.
Whole Dentures
These are structures that are placed in patients who have no teeth at all and rely on the gums solely.
Partial Dentures
These are structures that are placed in patients to replace some missing teeth which rest on the patient’s own existing teeth.

Materials used for the making of artificial dentures
Acrylic
Made of acrylic material in the color of the gum (pink). They have restraint problems and low fracture resistance.
Metal
Made of metal frame and acrylic base on which artificial teeth are placed. Their disadvantage is their weight and aesthetics since their metal hooks, especially on the front teeth, are visible.
Thermoplastic
They fit perfectly in the mouth and are almost invisible. Charming with excellent stability and low weight. The hooks are not visible, they do not damage teeth, they are flexible and possess a high fracture resistance.
Acetal
Their skeleton is made of acetal thermoplastic material on which the acrylic bases are incorporated together with the teeth.
They have no visible hooks, are light weight, have high resistance to mechanical deformation, provide a high degree of restraint and they do not damage the teeth.
Acetal hooks can also be placed on metal or acrylic dentures.
Onlay whole dentures on implants
These are dentures that are supported on 2-4 or more implants. Their support is much better than the simple dentures. They provide greater comfort to the patient by exerting less pressure on the gums, reducing the likelihood of pain or thrushes which is an often a problem in the denture.
